What is inspection and quality control?
In today’s international trade, verifying a product or ensuring its compliance in terms of quantity, quality, and packaging for transportation before shipment from the exporting country to the importing country is conducted under specific regulations and governmental conditions to ensure its accuracy, as outlined in contracts between the buyer and seller, by private inspection agencies with control and supervision by governmental organizations.
The process of controlling, supervising, and verifying the accuracy of the ordered goods by the customer based on the purchase contract is called pre-shipment inspection (PSI). In other words, pre-shipment inspection is an activity where an institution directly employed by an importer (governmental organization, company, or individual) or by the importing country is utilized to control the specific specifications of the goods.
